If you have been watching my handbag stories, you may notice I am not really swayed by handbag trends or what is the newest release in the market.
In general, I feature bags that catch my eye because of its design, functionality, and brand history.
Each of my stories in coveting the bag makes the acquisition unique and interesting. Which brings a perfect example of my feature on the MCM Classic Milla, a handbag design that changed in the late 2019. As I narrate in the video below, I also share a wonderful customer service experience from one of the flagship stores of the MCM brand in Seoul, Korea.
While you can no longer purchase the MCM classic Milla style in the retail boutiques, I still feel the design and look of the bag is a juxtaposition of an elegant design with utilitarian sense. A perfect combination for women who want to look stylish as they go through their busy day.
The Milla Black Leather Large Tote Bag is crafted in supple pebbled leather.
This is a sophisticated tote with a spacious interior that will keep you organized during your hectic days.
"Combining a structured body with a beautifully grained handfeel, its a style that's as sturdy as it is sophisticated. It's fitted with a spacious multi-compartment interior to help you stay organized, while boasting a tasteful contrast leather-covered hangtag and a detachable strap for crossbody wear.
Featuring double top handles, two interior compartments with flap top magnetic closure, embossed logo on top line, center zip divider pocket, logo leather and metal charm, detachable canvas and leather shoulder strap, protective metal feet and gold tone hardware detail."

History of MCM:
The fashion heritage of MCM began in 1976 in Munich, Germany. Back then it was named after its founder Michael Cromer München. His company popularized the monogram handbags with his patent material known as 'Cognac Visetos'.
Today, MCM, renamed as Modern Creation Munich, is owned by the Sungjoo Group, a South Korean company headed by a self-made and savvy visionary named Kim Sung Joo. She was responsible for growing MCM into a 2 Billion dollar company operating in 500 stores across 40 countries.
While MCM continues its tradition of utilizing the popular 'visetos' canvas material in its handbag, Kim Sung Joo also made it known that MCM has minimalistic offerings too in its design DNA.
One of the unique and classy handbags with this aesthetic is the Milla Tote, which MCM introduced in the Spring/Summer fashion season of 2015.
This beautiful piece caught my eye during my first visit to an MCM boutique in its Las Vegas flagship store. The design was unique, chic, and had a practical sensibility. It had five roomy interiors covered by magnetic flap closures that made it look distinct and seamless. And the leather was so soft and sturdy.
With the addition of an adjustable strap, the MCM Milla can be worn as a shoulder bag, satchel, tote, and crossbody.
In addition to our iconic backpack, we’ve had an incredibly positive response to some of our new styles of handbags such as the Milla tote. The simplicity and practicality of the design combined with the highest quality leather in impactful colours has really
resonated with our consumers globally.
