Dooney & Bourke Siena Serena Bucket Bags

Bucket bags have been around since the 1930s. Louis Vuitton, in fact, designed their first ‘bucket drawstring’ bag called the ‘NOE’ around this time. Later on, Connecticut-based company Dooney and Bourke created their own line of bucket bags. in the 1980s. I happen to own one and had later sold it in the pre-loved market. Fast forward to 2015 and we find the bucket bags popularized again by the beautiful and minimal craftsmanship of Mansur Gavriel. Even though their price point is very reasonable of under $1,000, the waiting list is crazy long. Some savvy and business-minded shoppers have started selling them for more in the secondary market.

As for me, I could not wait for the wait list to get to me. And I also refused to pay more than retail. So I looked into the reliable Dooney and Bourke company to find out what new bucket drawstring bags they have in the offing. And here is how I found out about their Siena Serena bucket bag line. I managed to score two. See what I think of Dooney and Bourke's bucket bags and why I feel this is a better buy than Mansur Gavriel's:
